SAS Bootcamp (YouTube)

The objective of this course is to familiarize students with the use of statistical software for data management. The primary focus of the course will be the use of SAS version 9.4. Students will learn to manipulate datasets, create analytic files, and employ commonly used tools in health services research. A brief introduction to statistical analysis will also be provided.

Pharmacoepidemiology (PHAD 796)

Patient Reported Outcomes (PHAD 786)

Patient-Reported Outcomes (PRO) studies evaluate the impact of disease, medical care, and treatment from the patient’s perspective. The overall objective of this course is to familiarize students with the understanding and application of PROs in health services and outcomes research. The course will involve discussion on PRO topics including quality of life and health-related quality of life, generic and disease-specific PRO instruments, health state preferences (values and utilities), patient satisfaction, measurement issues (general psychometrics, item response theory), and adherence to therapy. Principles of measurement, reliability, validity, responsiveness, analysis and interpretation in the context of PRO measures will also be discussed.
